The couple asked for one thing specifically: no camera near the head of the table during dinner.
So we shot the whole meal from thirty feet away on 16mm, wide, and let the room do the work.
It is one of my favorite reels precisely because nothing is staged in it. People forgot the camera was there within about ten minutes.
That distance is often the whole job — close enough to matter, far enough to disappear.
